    So interesting that gruff rough and tumble Warner Bros. turned out these superior musicals while MGM was still stumbling around woodenly in the very early 30’s. RKO would take over later with Fred and Ginger leaving MGM to catch up in the 40’s and eclipse everyone in the 50’s with the Freed Unit.

        Le Legion d’Honneur! Mais oui? We have a Palace of the Legion d’Honneur here in a beautiful park overlooking the golden gate. You may have seen it in Vertigo…where Madeline goes to look at the painting of Carlotta. The Palace was given to San Francisco by France after World War One.
