Mr. Plunkett designed the wardrobe in over 150 films, among them:
CHRISTOPHER STRONG, LITTLE WOMEN, FLYING DOWN TO RIO, OF HUMAN BONDAGE, NOTHING SACRED…
Catch my drift? He also did GONE WITH THE WIND, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, and AN AMERICAN IN PARIS.
This is an excellent overview of his career:

The article didn’t get into his personal life, but in order for his beloved companion to inherit his estate Mr. Plunkett had to adopt him. (b.1902-d.1982)
With Olivia de Havilland:
and he did Raintree County too! He is one of my favorite designers along with Orry Kelly, Irene Sharaff and Edith Head.

Such gorgeous, gorgeous costumes by Mr Plunkett. A magnificent talent! And he had to adopt his partner in order for him to inherit?! Truly the world is often a silly place. (tho’ “silly” is perhaps not a contemptuous enough term!)
He was brilliant. His creations almost always stole the scene, no?
