I haven’t read a murder mystery in a very long time because I don’t enjoy the genre but this book was fun and satiric, almost like gossip column meets romance novel meets crime fiction. The author is surprisingly sophisticated in her writing and the prose is filled with lots of nuance and detail. And it’s funny! It’s hard to believe this is her first novel because she’s such a confidant writer. Recommended for book clubs… I bet it would provide a lively discussion.
