THE INESTIMABLE – AUDREY HEPBURN

I have a friend who, whenever I used to do anything he found charming, would exclaim, “how Audrey of you!” My darlings, there can be only one.

I believe that you must also be very charming, lovely photos, thank you.

Thank you, you are very kind. And, thank you for the glimpse of Reykjavik and the riches of your blog.

Oh, how I love her! Thanks for sharing this one!

“You know what I do when I get the mean reds?”

“When I get it, what does any good is to jump into a cab and go to Tiffany’s. Calms me down right away. The quietness, the proud look. Nothing very bad could happen to you there.”

My last visit to NYC I got up at 5 in the dead of winter and walked from 7th ave and 57th over to Tiffany’s (ran into Tony Bennett out for his morning stroll on 59th…good morning -good morning) I bought a cup of coffee and a Danish and had breakfast at Tiffany’s …it was so cold I almost died!

There’s a gentleman in my neighborhood who I see walking before dawn in a Greek sailor’s cap, shorts and always an immaculate white t-shirt or sweat shirt. He’s probably about the same age as Mr. Bennett, I think these guys are onto something.

She was such a radiant, intelligent, elegant woman.

I had one interaction with her. I worked at Polo RL in the early 90s. They had a book that Audrey and Ralph collaborated on and she was at 867 Madison Ave for the signing. She came up to my department and smiled at me.

Oh, Vickie, how Audrey of you! (your friend sounds charming. I may now have to alter that phrase so it becomes “How very “Vickie” of You!” Ouch?!) Ah, she was indeed irreplaceable and, apparently, a very fine person to boot. Ms Hepburn looks incandescently lovely in each of those pictures, but she looks particularly adorable in the second – regardez her hairdo!

Short and sweet – and it doesn’t hurt to have that neck and jawline – or to be in your mid-twenties 😉

Oh, I don’t know, Vickie. There are women who haven’t been in their mid-twenties for a little while who could pull that look off beautifully (winks).

A little while? As we say on the Interwebs… Bwahaha!

I thought you’d find that amusing! And you didn’t disappoint 😉

You can never, ever, ever do too many posts on Audrey. Ever.

And Vickie, in a recent email to Mr. Kaplan (yes Beguiling has gone viral) I said that you two remind me of a Hepburn (the other one)/Tracy duo with your banter…see above for proof.

We’ll have to see if Mr. Kaplan will drop by more often 😉
